Cesarean Scar Services

A cesarean scar, also known as a C-section scar, is the mark left on the abdomen after a cesarean section delivery.

Cesarean scars are a natural part of the childbirth process for women who have undergone cesarean deliveries. While they usually fade over time, cesarean scars may sometimes cause issues such as discomfort, pain, itching, or changes in sensation. In some cases, complications like infection, poor wound healing, or abnormal scar tissue formation (keloids or hypertrophic scars) may occur.

We are honoured to meet you in your healing journey and offer specific services and treatments catered to our Cesarean mamas. From acupuncture to microcurrent stimulation to fitness offerings, we’ve got you covered.

acupuncture

Acupuncture is one of the oldest, most commonly used healing systems in the world. It has been used for over 3000 years to support individuals in all walks of life. Acupuncture can treat a variety of ailments and conditions, and is most commonly used for pain management + relief, stress reduction, and overall wellness.

Acupuncture has many benefits for cesarean scars, such as:

  • Improved range of motion by releasing tightness in the area

  • Improved circulation, increasing blood flow to the area and removing any blockages

  • Pain relief through nerve stimulation, increasing dopamine and serotonin responses

  • Reducing scar tissue

  • Overall wellness and relaxation, promoting healing

Initial appointment required for first time visits.

Offered by Breanne Baker (left) and Stacey Hess (right) at both locations.

cesarean scar release therapy

Our non-invasive method of Scar Release Treatment focuses on releasing restrictive and painful scar tissue, helping mamas return to life more comfortably. Your increased mobility and comfort will improve your capacity to take the best care of yourself and your family.

This technique involves the simultaneous application of safe, low-level electrical impulses to both sides of the scar. These micro-current levels help to relax and release scar tissue, which can prohibit muscle functioning and cause pain. This treatment is non-invasive and uses Dolphin Neurostim techonology.

Can be beneficial for:

  • Speeding up the healing process of the scar, muscle, and fascia;

  • Decreasing any pain felt in the connective tissue;

  • Helping to relax and fade scar tissue;

  • Restoring abdominal strength and functionality;

  • Releasing scar tightness which can increase blood circulation and lymph drainage to help your body in your healing journey

    Initial appointment required for first time visits.

    Offered by Dr. Richelle at both of our locations.
