Delivering your baby via cesarean section comes with special considerations and awareness around your healing, both physically and emotionally. Cesarean scars can lead to pain and tightness that impact abdominal functionality, and lead to conditions such as dyspareunia and overactive bladder syndrome.
Our non-invasive method of Scar Release Treatment focuses on releasing restrictive and painful scar tissue, helping mamas return to life more comfortably. Your increased mobility and comfort will improve your capacity to take the best care of yourself and your family.
This technique involves the simultaneous application of safe, low-level electrical impulses to both sides of the scar. These micro-current levels help to relax and release scar tissue, which can prohibit muscle functioning and cause pain. Offered by Dr. Richelle at both of our locations.
cesarean scar release therapy
cesarean scar release therapy can be beneficial for:
Speeding up the healing process of the scar, muscle, and fascia
Decreasing any pain felt in the connective tissue
Helping to relax and fade scar tissue
Restoring abdominal strength and functionality
Releasing scar tightness which can increase blood circulation and lymph drainage to help your body in your healing journey
Note: MPS therapy cannot be used on individuals that are currently pregnant, or use a pacemaker or medical device implant. It is also not recommended for use in regions with tumours.

Every body is different, and each scar is unique. The number of sessions required will be based on the extent of scar tissue present, as well as your body’s regeneration and healing response to treatment. Our practitioner will create a personalized treatment plan according to your needs. On average, most individuals require 3-4 sessions.

Your body’s healing process following Caesarean delivery may take time. As a general recommendation, we suggest beginning 6 to 8 weeks post-partum, or whenever you feel ready. At your initial appointment, our practitioner will complete a full assessment of your health history and discuss any questions you have regarding the treatment.
-
There is no limit to when you can start treatment! Scars that are a few months old to over 10 years can be treated.
-
Nope! It is actually the opposite - having scar release therapy prior to your delivery will help to release already present scar tissue and will aid in your healing process for your upcoming delivery. The less scar tissue to deal with for subsequent pregnancies and deliveries the better!
